Our Story
It all started with a handful of girls and a patch of grass.
Back in the early days, Flushing Flames United wasn’t a club — it was just one U10 rec team, stitched together by a few parents and coaches who wanted to give their daughters a chance to play. No grand ambitions, no fancy uniforms. Just a love for the game and a belief that something good could grow from it.
And grow it did.
From that single team, FFU has steadily built itself into a competitive soccer club with four teams across multiple age groups. They now compete in leagues and tournaments across Michigan, including the prestigious State Cup, where they’ve held their own against some of the biggest names in youth soccer.
What sets FFU apart isn’t just their record — it’s their roots. They’re still based in Flushing, still run by people who care more about development than dollars, and still focused on creating a tight-knit community around the sport. Coaches aren’t chasing paychecks; they’re chasing progress. Parents aren’t just spectators; they’re part of the culture.
Built for the Climb
FFU is part of the Michigan State Premier Soccer Program (MSPSP) pyramid, which means promotion and relegation are on the table. If a team performs, they move up. If they struggle, they regroup and rebuild. It’s a merit-based system that rewards hard work — and FFU embraces it. Around here, how far you go is up to you.
Real Soccer. Real Value.
Ask around. Compare prices. FFU offers one of the most affordable competitive soccer experiences in Genesee County — without cutting corners. Uniforms, training, league play, and tournament fees are bundled into a package that’s designed to be fair and accessible. Other clubs might charge double or triple for the same experience. FFU keeps it lean, so families can focus on the game, not the bill.
The Only All-Girls Club in Genesee County
While FFU doesn’t wear its identity on its sleeve, it’s worth noting: they are the only all-girls soccer club based in Genesee County. That’s not a marketing angle — it’s just a fact.
And it means every player here is surrounded by teammates who share the same goals, challenges, and drive.
Not just a club - A Commitment.
FFU isn’t trying to be the biggest. They’re trying to be the best at what they do: developing players, building teams, and keeping the game fun. They don’t do it for the money. They do it because they believe in soccer as a way to teach discipline, teamwork, and resilience.
From one team to four, from rec ball to State Cup, from sidelines to scorelines — FFU is proof that with the right people and the right purpose, small beginnings can lead to big things.
